Music Director

Nicolás Gómez Amín was born in April 1998 in Santiago, Chile. He first began playing the violin at the age of 7 under the guidance of Professor Nadia Salinas. Nicolás has also studied under professors Ruben Sierra, Elena Batrakova, and Oriana Silva. Nicolás has been active over the years and has performed in important concert halls in Chile, the United States, and Greece. 

 

Nicolás earned his bachelor’s degree from the Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 2022, where he studied under Professor Kurt Nikkanen, concertmaster at the New York City Ballet Orchestra. During his time at Kutztown, he continued to perform as a soloist, chamber musician, and concertmaster. He also performs regularly with other local organizations like Berks Sinfonietta and Reading Pops Orchestra. 

 

As a conductor, Nicolás served as the President and Musical Director of the Chamber Players of Kutztown University from 2019 to 2022 and as the Assistant Conductor of the Kutztown University Choir. Additionally, he has guest conducted the Kutztown University Orchestra and Berks Sinfonietta. He has studied under Peter Isaacson and Pablo Carrasco and attended the Conductor's Institute of South Carolina.
